ReWeaving Grief: An exploration of loss and continuing bonds
Next Date Coming Soon
Barre, VT
Sliding Scale $5-15
In this two-hour workshop, we explore how it feels to lean into the feelings of grief and then create an object that symbolizes the new relationship we are creating after the loss. This workshop is open to all who are experiencing grief, whether it’s from the death of a loved one, divorce or estrangement, or any other loss or traumatic experience.
You are invited to bring clothing, scarves, or other fabric items that belonged to your deceased loved one. If your grief is not related to a death, you are invited to bring any fabric items that represent your loss or that you want to transform. We will also provide fabrics from which you can choose any you are drawn toward.
In the first step, we will relax into a quiet time in which we tear the fabrics into strips, observing how the process feels in our bodies and allowing any emotions and feelings to surface and move. To support introspection and moving our attention inward, we will commit to working in supportive silence with each other.
In the second step, we will weave our fabric strips through a wreath of dried grapevine, creating a circular symbol of life’s continuity and the new bond you are creating with your loved one or with yourself. You can also attach any mementos that symbolize your bond, such as small pieces of jewelry, small photos or drawings, or other items that are easy to attach.
We will then have time to talk about the loss we are processing, tell stories of our loved ones or ourselves, and what we experienced during the reweaving process.
Space is limited to help create a supportive, small-group environment. After you register you will receive a welcome email with the location of the workshop and additional information.

Build Your Emotional First Aid Kit: an exploration on being your own first responder
Next Date Coming Soon
10 am - noon
Barre, VT
Free/By Donation
We all understand the value of having a physical first aid kit on hand. This societal practice has actually helped our overall life expectancy increase by more than fifty percent.
Yet we do not apply this same preparation to our emotional wounds. Feelings of loneliness, failure and rejection that are left untreated can create deep psychological pain that contribute to chronic illness, anxiety and depression. In fact, chronic loneliness has the same negative health impacts as smoking, and increases the risk of early death by almost thirty percent.
In this one-day workshop, we will explore the six key elements of practicing emotional first aid, including how to create your own personal Emotional First Aid Kit.
What is an Emotional First Aid Kit?
It’s a personalized collection of items, resources, and activities that can help provide you with immediate comfort or grounding after emotional distress. You can include physical items like stress balls, lozenges, essential oils and small journals, as well as resource lists and reminders about activities like stretching, lighting your favorite candle, or listening to your favorite music playlist.
Any type of bag or container can be used, depending on where you want to keep your kit and what you want it to hold. Examples range from a zippered cosmetic bag that fits inside your purse or backpack, to a large tote or shoulder bag with multiple compartments.
We will spend our time together exploring the key elements of emotional first aid, brainstorming ideas for our own kits, and beginning the process of assembling our kits.
After registering, you will receive a welcome email with the address of the workshop and additional information. Small zippered bags will be provided, but you are welcome and encouraged to bring your own bag!
Space is limited to help us create a supportive small-group environment.
